On November 26th, Mino from WINNER finally made his solo debut with album ‘XX‘ and title track’ Fiancé‘. He released his MV on the same day. Check it out below!
The MV starts with Mino lying down in a bed in the middle of a field of weeds. In this same setting, Mino takes on the appearance of a working class person chasing after his love. He goes back between modern and ancient times in this MV. In another setting, he is dressed in royal outfits from ancient Korean times. He is even wearing the fancy headdress that Joseon and Goryo royalty wore back in the day. This matches with the traditional elements that are prominent in the song. It is an interesting mix to hear Mino‘s modern-style rap with traditional East Asian elements in the instrumentals of the song. In one memorable scene, Mino walks through a narrow space with vines on either sides of him. Hands are coming out to grab at him from the vines.
Mino‘s solo debut will definitely leave an impression on people, even if they are not even fans. He participated in producing all the songs on his debut album. Furthermore, his MV is incredibly artistic, which also reflects him as a person. One of Mino‘s hobbies is doing art, and he definitely has a talent in it. He often posts his artwork on his SNS accounts – he is a well-rounded person who is not only gifted in music. He is also talented in variety and entertainment as he is a cast member on ‘New Journey to the West‘. Fans will definitely be satisfied with ‘Fiancé‘ and ‘XX‘.
