It is confirmed that actors Song Joong-ki, So Ji-sub, and Hwang Jun-min are chosen as the cast of the upcoming movie titled, ‘Battleship’. The movie, which will be directed by Ryu Seung-wan, is a story about 400 Joseon people who try escaping a battleship, which they were forced to board during the Japanese colonial era.
Song Joong-ki will play Park Moo-yong, who boards the battleship as a part of an independence movement, in order to rescue the people. So Ji-sub will play Choi Chil-sung, a skilled fighter, also brought in peace to Jongno area, whilst Hwang Jung-min is casted as Lee Kang-ok, who is fooled into moving to Japan.
All three actors are shining stars in the Korean drama/film industry.
Joong-ki, who completed his mandatory military duties not long ago, recommenced his activities as an actor with the KBS drama series, ‘Descendants Of The Sun’, which will be aired starting in February. He came into fame with the TV series, ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal’, where he showed off his irresistible charisma. His seductive cuteness was more revealed on the variety show ‘Running Man’. TV series ‘Innocent Man’, where he had his first lead role and the box office hit ‘Werewolf Boy’, are also best examples for Joong-ki’s memorable appearance on screen.

Starting his journey as a jeans model, the sexy and handsome Ji-sub, got into fame as an actor for the roles in dramas such as ‘I love you’, ‘Cain and Abel’, ‘Masters Sun’ and the movie, ‘Rough Cut’. He also released several hip hop EPs such as ‘Pick Up Line’, ‘18 Years’, and ‘So Ganzi (White).

Hwang Jung-min started with musicals, debuted with the musical ‘Line 1’, in 1995. He is well known for his appearance in musicals and plays such as ‘Assassins’, ‘The Wedding Singer’ and ‘Nine’, and has also passed a great journey of filmography. ‘Veteran’ (which is also directed by Ryu Seung-wan), ‘Man In Love’, ‘Dancing Queen’ are few of example of his movies and ‘The Korean Peninsula’ and ‘The Accidental Couple’ are dramas he also took part in.
From my point of view, this is an excellent selection of actors for this movie which will stir-up many hearts. Actors who are differently unique, who also got three competitive, yet different attractions towards the audience, will surely make the movie a success.
