We don’t always update about Kdrama World but we will try to do our best in the future. With all these new releases we were too busy to write about them, but that doesn’t mean we are not aware of all new and exciting upcoming dramas in first half of 2015.
Ast today’s hits coming to its’ end, “Kill me, Heal Me” and “Hyde, Jekyll and I” we look forward to new dramas.
First of all Kim Soo Hyun will return after year and a half, and will work with Seo Soo Min PD, who has been responsible for Gag Concert for years, and writer Park Ji Eun, the same writer who wrote “My Love From Another Star”. New drama “Producer” will air its’ first episode on April 17th, so the preparations are going full speed. Alongside Kim Soo Hyun, the veteran actor Cha Tae Hyun is returning to dramas after a three-year hiatus. Kim Soo Hyun will play the role of rookie PD and Cha Tae Hyun will be playing a PD with 10-years of experience. The female leads are yet to be decided.
Second, it is not official yet, but Kang Sora and Kim Woo Bin were offered the lead roles for new Hong Sisters (Masters Sun, You’re Beautiful, Greatest Love) drama, Jeju Island Gatsby. The drama is, as you may have guessed, set in Jeju Island, where the two leads relocate to start fresh with a new life far from the harsh city. The Hongs had initially planned for their next drama to be a time-slip set in the Occupation years, but last month completely overhauled their concept as a contemporary romance. I look forward to this drama and I hope soon these two will confirm their roles because they would make great couple.
Third, one of the most famous actors in Korea, Lee Minho promised to be returning to the dramas in the second half of the year after a year and a half. His last drama was “The Heirs”, since then he filmed a movie “Gangnam Blues” where he was transformed in almost unrecognizable self. I look forward to see his new drama and I hope he will choose one that is more serious and mature. I love Lee Minho, but he has grown out of those high-school roles.
Also Park (Mickey ) Yoochun (JYJ) is making his return to dramas in new KBS‘s drama “Sensory Couple” (not def. title) alongside Shin Se Kyung. The work is originally the web-toon caller “The Girl Who Sees Smell”. The drama will be about a girl who miraculously survives accident called “The Bar Code Murder Case” and the man who loses his sister in the same accident. Park Yoochun will play the character that goes into a coma after the murder case. Although he wakes up after three days, he loses senses such as smelling, tasting and the ability to feel pain.
I am not a fan of this actress but I’ll give it a try. Looking forward to this drama. The filming starts this week and it will air in April.
