[K-Exclusive] WOOSUNG’S B4 WE DIE TOUR LIGHTS UP SYDNEY WITH PARCLASSIC

If you’re familiar with K-Indie Rock band The Rose, you’ll definitely know the unique voice and charismatic stage presence of their lead singer and electric guitarist – Woosung. Woosung kicked off the Australian leg of his B4 We Die Tour on Wednesday, October 23rd in Sydney – with the help of parclassic, of course!

Enmore Theatre was transformed into a Korean nightclub when The Rose’s Dojoon donned his headphones and took to the stage – evolving into his DJ persona, parclassic. Packed with stunning visual effects and hard hitting lighting, parclassic’s drops were to die for, they had the crowd bouncing with their hands in the air anticipating every beat.

After parclassic’s dedicated set, he remained on stage as Woosung floated in from the wings and graced us with his presence, beaming from ear to ear. From the crowd, you could see his eyes tracking the audience as he stored all of our faces into his memory bank. Instantly you could see how much this interaction with his fans meant to him. His heart smiled and it showed through his vibrance on stage. The set opened with “Paper Cuts”, “Before We Die” and “Never Let Go”.

The atmosphere of this concert was unlike anything else. Woosung and parclassic created a perfect blend of rock, pop, and R&B elements with electronic tones, powerful baselines, and repetitive motifs. It was a rollercoaster of deep emotion and exhilaration.

Highlights of the night were “Lazy”, “Side Effects”, and “Back to Me”. Fans sang along to the hooks of whole setlist but these three tracks had every voice in the audience singing louder than most. Woosung sauntered across the stage with smooth, laid-back dance moves but, it was when he decided to add a bit of charisma to those moves, the crowd’s cheers changed to swoons making him laugh and miss some lyrics to “Lazy”.

Woosung took a moment to talk to his audience and explain the meaning of his latest album “4444”. He went into depths, talking about how the number 4 (four) holds significance he holds close to his heart. Paraphrasing that “in many Asian cultures, the number 4 is often associated with bad luck as it sounds close to the word for death in several languages”. The superstition is something that emits a feeling of unease for most but Woosung has found the light in the dark.

Woosung explains that he been followed by the number 4 for as long as he can remember. He strives to see the good in the misunderstood. “Maybe death isn’t something that’s bad or scary, I think that death is something that could be beautiful”. Beautifully articulating his thoughts on life’s fragility and the importance of truly living.

The duo spent the second half of the show swapping positions of vocals and managing the DJ decks – they even brought out a guitar. This lively switch in the setlist and gave both Woosung and parclassic a chance to showcase their talents.

It was an absolute dream come true for fans of both Woosung and Dojoon. We genuinely hope to witness their vibrant energy and incredible talent return to Australia soon, whether as solo artists or together as The Rose.

Thank you to Box Live AU for this opportunity.
