Having made their highly anticipated return for the La Dolce Vita 2nd World Tour following a triumphant European leg in 2023, ONEUS visited the Windy City this week. This tour marked the group’s third visit to Chicago since their debut and first solo U.S. tour in 2019.
Kicking off the night with their latest title track, “Baila Conmigo,” from their latest EP La Dolce Vita, fans were immediately captivated by the Latin influence signature to this comeback. Also featured were recent tracks like “Erase Me” and the exclusive tour debut of “Simulation.” These tracks gave fans a taste of what they missed in the less-than-one-year span since ONEUS greeted their fans on their previous tour.
The energetic mash-up of “Luna” and “Lit,” were crowd favorites, displaying ONEUS’s signature powerful vocals and dynamic choreography, while also giving a nod to their Korean roots. As the night unfolded, the mood shifted seamlessly between upbeat tracks like “Unforgettable” and “Stupid Love” to more poignant, emotional ballads such as “Epilogue” and “Halley’s Comet.” Even when the pace of the song changed, the choreography remained intense, but reflected the subtlety of the songs themselves. While ONEUS is known for their dance-heavy discography, their vocal tracks share the same spotlight, as they offer the same powerful distinction. The tracks “No Diggity” and “Bring it On” re-introduced what became an adrenaline inducing pre-lude to the night’s finale.
The final chapter of the night featured an encore of iconic hits like “Black Mirror,” the English version of “Life Is Beautiful,” and the intense “Shut Up 받고 Crazy Hot!” With each song, it became clearer and clearer that ONEUS’s talent is unyielding. Each song was a nostalgic journey through the boy group’s musical evolution, blending elements from their past eras with their latest tracks. Through this tour, they once again conquered Chicago, and with less than eight stops to go, they’ll be sure to do the same across the U.S.
