JYP Entertainment has become involved in some unfortunate rumors that the agency accepted funds from illegal sources.
The agency has strongly denied all the accusations and has released an official statement, JYP Entertainment stated, “Regarding the groundless rumors that there was an influx of illegal funds into the company, we would like to clearly state that we have received not even 10 won of illegal funds.”
The rumors say that JYP received 500 million won from Saviorists – a group of people considered a religious cult in Korea.
The agency added, “JYP Entertainment is not being investigated at all on the transparency of funds or anything related. We will be taking first legal actions against the person who spread these false rumors.”
Additionally, Park Jin Young has expressed his frustration on his official Twitter, posting, “Other than the fact that my wife is related to the owners of a problematic company, there is absolutely no relation whatsoever, so is this a country where you’re allowed to write whatever you want? Regarding my faith, if you look at all the interviews I’ve done and listened to all the music I’ve produced, you’ll know. I’ve studied many religions in the past few years, but I still don’t have a religion. I hope that no more groundless rumors spread.”
