According to Billboard, PSY‘s “Gangnam Style” is America’s favorite ringtone!
The song reached #1 on the Billboard Ringtone Chart on December 21st. On the main Billboard charts the song went from 11th to 18th.
Despite the recent fall on the Billboard charts, PSY and “Gangnam Style” sensation has not ended. PSY took the number two spot on Billboard’s “Top 20 Music Moments of 2012“, number one being Whitney Houston’s unfortunate death.
Billboard felt that PSY has really made K-Pop shine this year: “Korea’s rapper PSY has lead the year for K-Pop.”
PSY was also crowned “Viral Sensation of the Year” by MTV for “Gangnam Style.” Its popularity has grown significantly since it was uploaded on YouTube. The video is also the most watched video on YouTube receiving over 1 billion views.
