The wait is over and finally ‘Dark Panda‘ has dropped! This highly anticipated collaborative project features Sistar‘s Hyolyn, Block B‘s Zico and Paloalto. Starship Entertainment dropped teaser video and photos as well to hype up this project for the fans.
Now let’s call this music video what it is; a sales pitch. We all know that Hyolyn is going to appear on the next season of ‘Unpretty Rap Star‘ and fans are divided on that decision. When this collaboration was released, it seems to be in an attempt to convince us fans that Hyolyn can rap well enough to deserve her spot on the show.

Don’t get me wrong, I like Sistar and Hyolyn but if this was in fact Hyolyn showing off her rap skills, her future on the show will be short and bleak. Let’s remember; Hyolyn is going to appear on a rap contest so she is going to have to in fact rap, something she did not do in this song. All she did was sing a couple of verses and the hook while Zico and Paloalto took care of all the rapping.
So I gave the song a second listen this time letting go of all judgement and listening to the song for what it is and that is a pretty awesome song. Everyone doing what they do best; Hyolyn and her gorgeous voice sell you on the feeling of the song while Zico and Paloalto rap effortlessly. The entire thing is backed with a strong electric beat that makes this a great song for the end of summer.
