On August 28th, BLACKPINK released the MV for their single, ‘Ice Cream’, in collaboration with American singer Selena Gomez. Check the MV out down below!
BLACKPINK FEAT. SELENA GOMEZ ‘ICE CREAM’ MV:
Lyrically, the majority English sung track talks about the temptation of lovers comparing them to ice cream. The song has a bright upbeat feel, perfect for a summer’s day. Looking into the MV, the first scenes we see are identical to those teased in the MV teaer released one day earlier. With Selena Gomez driving an ice cream van, and the members peeking their heads through equally bright ice cream cut outs. Cutting to a group shot, the members ride on bicycles into the centre of a pastel coloured neighbourhood. All the members also have their own solo sets which are all equally bright, conveying the sweetness of the track.
Furthermore, we see snippets of choreography for the track partially in pink tennis court set where the girls where cute white tennis outfits. Although short, the dance looks more flowing with waving hand movements and body rolls. The MV ends with Selena Gomez relaxing in front of a pastel yellow convertible car; and all of the BLACKPINK members riding their own mini pink cars whilst eating ice cream, and sliding down slides, and enjoying their time in the fluffy land they are encompassed in.
‘Ice Cream’ marks the 2nd single from the girl group’s upcoming 1st full album, ‘The Album’, which is scheduled for release on October 2nd!
